This is a nice beginner's guitar. The action is kind of high, so you will earn your calluses quickly. I bought mine from GearTree through Amazon, and it arrived quickly in great condition. However, consider buying directly from a vendor's website, because some offer free shipping when you buy directly. Then you can buy a decent case or a strap as well, and for the same price as shipping would have cost you. Also, get an inexpensive tuner as well - you will be playing the day it arrives!

I purchased this guitar as a gift for a nephew. It was easy to play and the sound was beyond what i expected. Great solid beginners guitar or tag along guitar.
I also purchased an s34c Cutaway as a gift for a niece. That was a dissapointment as it's 3rd string is buzzing significantly and a change of strings didn't help. I also noticed that this was mentioned in at least one reveiw.
But long story short the S35 was perfect and I wouldn't hesitate to play it out anywhere. Extremely happy with that unit and highly recommend as the owner of a Martin and a Fender. If you are contemplating between the 2, my experience, subjective as it may be, says bet on the S35. I might even have to get one for myself!
